Click here to learn more about our full benefits packageJOB SUMMARYThe Echo Tech performs quality echocardiographic studies as ordered by the providers as well as the performance of all other non-invasive cardiac procedures within the Cardiology Department.
Echo Tech is responsible for coordinating ultrasound in exam rooms, preparing and accurately documenting ultrasound imaging, maintaining the integrity of equipment/supplies and other duties as assigned.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIESAssists physicians when performing special proceduresMaintains adequate stock of supplies in the ultrasound roomDemonstrates competence in performance of echocardiographic studiesPerforms echocardiographic studies considering the age-specific physiological, emotional and cognitive needs of the patientConsistently performs quality Doppler and color Doppler ExamsAcquires quality Stress Echo and Dobutamine images according to physician and benchmark standardsPerforms quality Trans esophageal echocardiograms according to physician expectationsMaintains competence in all other procedures performed in the Cardiology DepartmentInterpretation, reporting, communication and documentation of studiesDemonstrates understanding of cardiac disease processes in order to obtain complete acquisition of images for clinical diagnosis by reading cardiologistReports pertinent information or changes of patients condition to physician, nurse and/or supervisor incorporating age-specific informationHas a basic understanding of acquired imagesReports findings and concerns to reading physician for prompt interpretationRecords preliminary interpretation of studies on patient worksheet incorporating age-specific information.
Documents patient information and processes reports accurately and timelyNotifies the reading cardiologist of any referral studies to be readPerforms all related processing required for each completed studyEducates patients and/or patients family regarding procedures performed and communicates effectively with patient and/or familyUses the electronic health records system with accuracy and enter patient chargesUses equipment and departments resources appropriatelyAssists registration/scheduling staff with accurate scheduling of patient appointmentsCovers on-call schedule as assigned following departmental proceduresMaintains equipment including cleaning and disinfecting according to procedureIdentifies problems with equipment and notifies appropriate resources for diagnosis and repair and assists with evaluation of new equipmentEnsures that expenditures for job related activities are within budgetary constraintsMaintains confidentiality of all personnel and patient care and relations informationEnsures superior ongoing patient satisfaction and customer serviceDemonstrates efficient time management and prioritization skillsMaintains professional standards related to clinical environmentMaintains a personal education file and is able to speak on accomplishments during annual performance appraisalPractices fiscal responsibility and accountabilityActively participates in the Quality Program as demonstrated by participation at department staff meetings and active involvement in performance improvement projectsAbility to handle multiple priorities while remaining calm, focused and professionalAdheres to CCMH and Campbell County Clinic policies and proceduresMust be free from governmental sanctions involving health care and/or financial practices.
Complies with the hospital's Corporate Compliance Program including, but not limited to, the Code of Conduct, laws and regulations, and hospital policies and proceduresPerforms other duties as assignedECHO TECH JOB SPECIFICATIONSEducationGraduate from an accredited program of diagnostic medical sonographyLicensure/CredentialingCredentialing by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred at time of hire, however, registry must be complete within one year.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
