JOB SUMMARYWorking in conjunction with the Emergency Department Director, Emergency Department (ED) clinical care supervisors and RN, the ED EMT A performs a variety of skills/tasks for patients.
ED EMT A work is reflective of CCMH mission, vision and values.
The ED EMT A will integrate departmental goals for improvement across the continuum.
The ED EMT A practices within the scope of their EMT A certification utilizing the protocols approved by the ED Medical Director.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES EMT skills may include but are not limited to the following:
Assist with basic patient care according to the plan of care established for the ED patients Obtain Adult vital signs, including accurate orthostatic Obtain Neonate and Peds vital signs including rectal temp Place monitor leads correctly that provide a quality result Performs EKGs that provide a quality result Performs duties per the level of their EMT A certification Start IV and obtain blood draws Urinary catheter - Removal of urinary catheter; Obtains urine specimen from catheter port.
Administration of enemas Capillary blood glucose testing Assist with collection and transport of specimens Perform 1:
1 observations for suicidal patients Responds to mental health needs Perform Post-mortem care Assist with assembly of equipment Identify and Report to MD/RN on patient status, and concerns Provides service excellence utilizing AIDET.
Enhances patient safety by attending shift huddle, and performance of hourly rounding.
Assists with admission, discharge and transfer of patients.
Assist/Transport patients to Radiology Maintains a clean and safe environment.
Performs routine cleaning tasks; Clean examination rooms Document in patient records according to policy Order and restock supplies Performs clerical tasks Performs other duties as assigned.
Demonstrates efficient time management and prioritization skills Practices fiscal responsibility and accountability.
Complies with the hospital's Corporate Compliance Program including, but not limited to, the Code of Conduct, laws and regulations, and hospital policies and procedures Must be free from governmental sanctions involving health care and/or financial practices.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS Education High school graduate or GED required Completion of licensed EMT A course CertificationCurrently certified as an EMT A in the state of Wyoming ExperiencePrevious EMS experience preferred.
Essential Technical/Motor SkillsHand/eye coordination.
Interpersonal SkillsGood interpersonal skills needed in dealing with nursing staff, physicians, patients, families and other members of the health care team Essential Physical Requirements Ability to use appropriate body mechanics in lifting, positioning, transferring patients and/or maneuver objects weighing 40 pounds or less in the assessment and implementation of patient care Requires shift work Essential Mental AbilitiesKnowledge of basic patient care procedures.
Able to think quickly, handle various projects simultaneously with attention to accuracy, prioritization, patient request, detail, memory, problem-solving, reasoning, ability to memorize routine assignments, computer mnemonics, all with little or no supervision.
Essential Sensory RequirementsSufficient vision, hearing and speech to perform duties.
Hours of Work May be scheduled to work 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts.
May have to work night shift and/or rotate day and night shifts.
Must work weekends and holidays.
May have to take call.

Use of appropriate protective measures is required for every employee engaged in Category I Tasks.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
